As the long Antarctic winter falls, most of the staff evacuate the Polaris VI Antarctic Research Station. A small team stays on to continue their innovative research, a crucial part in the fight against climate change, led by renowned biologist Arthur Wilde (John Lynch). But when spring comes, summer commander Johan Berg (Alexander Willaume) returns to find the entire team are either dead or missing. A killer is on the loose and Annika (Laura Bach), Johan's wife, is missing. If he wants to find her alive, he will have to trust Maggie (Katharine O'Donnelly), the young doctor who is traumatized and apparently the sole survivor from the group.

The Head is a Spanish-Japanese English-language psychological thriller television series directed by Jorge Dorado for HBO Asia and Hulu Japan. The first season, set in Antarctica, premiered on 12 June 2020. A second season premiered on 22 December 2022. A third and final season started airing on December 19, 2024.

“A scientist invents a serum that keeps a dog's head alive after its body dies. When the scientist dies of a heart attack, his crazed assistant cuts off his head and, using the serum, keeps the doctor's head alive and forces it to help him on an experiment to give his hunchbacked nurse assistant a new body.”(imdb.com) Imaginatively titled for US release as “The Head,” this older German cousin of “The Brain That Wouldn’t Die” is also known as “Die Nackte und der Satan” (“The Naked and the Satan”). Curiously, the two films share some aspects -- decapitation, a full-body transplant, strippers, a disembodied head that speaks without lungs, All dialogue is in dubbed English.
