A mad stage hypnotist Dr. John Basso (Les Tremayne) reverts his beautiful assistant Doreena (Pat Delaney) into the physical form of a prehistoric sea monster she was in a past life. Using this power he attempts to find fame and fortune by predicting a series of murders and then using the monster to carry them out.

Curse of the Swamp Creature is a 1968 American-made for television horror science fiction film directed by Larry Buchanan. Although Buchanan was producing low-budget 16mm color remakes of American International Pictures sci-fi movies for television distribution around this time, he claimed this was an original even though it bears more than a few striking similarities to the 1957 AIP film Voodoo Woman. Buchanan later said, "Never make a swamp picture. Your film comes back, and it's all... strange."

A color remake of "The She Creature", Les Tremayne is a mad hypnotist who regresses a girl back to a previous life, which, in her case, was a sea monster. The monster from this Larry Buchanan film was reused in his later movie, "It's Alive".
