The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953)

The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms is a 1953 American independent monster film directed by Eugène Lourié, with stop motion animation by Ray Harryhausen. In the film, an atomic bomb test in the Arctic thaws a prehistoric dinosaur called the Rhedosaurus, which then wreaks havoc along the east coast of North America, ultimately heading towards New York City. A scientist and military forces attempt to stop the creature, leading to a dramatic confrontation in the city.
